The Livewire Grizzly was part of the 2014 Thundercrack Carnivale in Flight Rising. It is an annual event that takes place at the end of July. The “new year” starts over in June with a brand new batch of collectible Elemental Familiars. Last time around it was Sprites. This time is is a series of bears.
The best way to obtain an Elemental Familiar is to pick it up while the holiday is going on.
A fairly recent change at Flight Rising gave players another way to obtain some of the previous Elemental Familiars that they may have missed out on. Some may appear as part of a randomized event in December. It will be “more expensive and more difficult to obtain than simply picking up the familiars during its festive month.” All of the artwork in this post is a copyright of Flight Rising.
The easiest way to find out if there is an Elemental Holiday going on is to visit the Festive Favors section in Flight Rising. If you see something that indicates that the cart is closed, it means that there is no holiday going on right then. If there is a holiday happening, you will see that the cart is open. It will look something like this:
Each of the Elemental Holidays connects with one of the Dragon Flights. The Thundercrack Carnivale celebrates the Lightning Flight. You cannot buy the Festival items with Treasure. Instead, you need to collect up the special holiday currency.
The easiest way to do it is by going into the Gather Items area. Use the drop down box to select “Lightning”, and then click the button under it. You will get some of the things you would expect to come from each particular type of Gathering. You will also get some of the holiday currency. It will drop randomly.
The special Holiday Currency for the Thundercrack Carnivale is called Charged Sprocket.

You need to gather up 35 Charged Sprockets in order to purchase the Livewire Grizzly.
