I first heard about this place in the first episode of Skolnick’s Warcraft Less Traveled podcast. The abandoned Tauren Farm is on the southwestern Silithus coast.
You pretty much have to swim there. When you can see the windmill, it means you are nearly there. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on October 5, 2010.
First, a look at what The Tauren Farm of Silithus looked like before the Cataclysm Expansion.
Once you get on dry land, you get a better look at the windmill.
Some views of the abandoned farm itself
There goes one of the birds that fly overhead.
Here is the circular fence. There are no animals inside it.
Here are the two canoes, abandoned at the shoreline.
Now, let’s take a look inside the buildings.
Here is the oddly shaped cave…
…and a view from inside the very dark cave:
I couldn’t help but wonder how much of this unique, peaceful, location still existed after Cataclysm. This time around, I decided to have my DK, Riglee, make the trip, and I brought along my favorite hunter, Hansbrix. He had never been to this location before.
Sadly, we found that most of this once lovely location had been washed away. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on January 8, 2012.
All that remains now is the oddly shaped, and mostly empty, cave that was near it.
Here is a view from inside the cave.
