The 2018–2019 partial government shutdown has now gone into its fifth week. There doesn’t seem to be any sign that it will end.

Democrats will have the Majority in the House of Representatives in 2019

It’s been a little while since the 2018 midterm election ended, and most (if not all) of the votes have now been counted. Democrats did really well in the U.S. House of Representatives. This will change how things go in 2019 (when the newly elected take their seats).

We will no longer have one party controlling all branches of the federal government. Personally, I find that comforting. I’m not a fan of the decisions that were made when the Republicans controlled everything.
