Greater Rifts in Torment III (Season 3)

This blog is part of the series I am putting together about my experience in Season 3 of Diablo III. So far, I’ve picked a different focus each season. For Season 3, I decided to put my best effort into the Greater Rifts.

I’m not entirely certain how the difficulty level that you set the game to matches up to the Tiers of the Greater Rift. At first, I though that if I set the difficulty level to Torment 3, for example, the Greater Rifts I enter would be that much harder than when I ventured into them with the difficulty set to Torment 2 or Torment 1.

The Dwarves Explore the Hinterlands

The Dwarves are Hansbrix the Hunter (and his pet bear, Fridge) and Bradanna the Priest. My husband and I have been playing these two characters together, completing parts of Azeroth zone by zone. There are things that we missed out on the first time we played (other characters) through some of the Cataclysm content.

It is kind of strange to consider that new characters start out in content that was introduced to the game during the Cataclysm expansion. Eventually, The Dwarves will run into The Burning Crusade content, which is older than the Cataclysm re-booted zones.

In this blog, I will feature the most interesting parts of The Dwarves trip through The Hinterlands. The first two screenshots you see in this blog were taken on April 20, 2015 (when The Dwarves were working through Arathi Highlands). The rest were taken on May 4, May 6, May 8, May 10, and May 25, 2015.

Outliers: The Story of Success – by Malcolm Gladwell

Malcolm Gladwell is the author of The Tipping Point and Blink, two books that, in my estimation, became popular shortly after they were released. Outliers: The Story of Success is the first book of Malcolm Gladwell’s that I’ve read. I am left with the feeling that there is some wisdom in what this author has written. I would be interested in reading more of his work.

That being said, I also found Outliers to be somewhat distressing. It is the type of book that takes what everyone thinks they know about the world, and turns it on it’s head. The new idea, of course, is backed up with facts, data, and explanations that do make sense.

Greater Rifts in Torment II (Season 3)

This blog is part of the series I am putting together about my experience in Season 3 in Diablo III.  My main focus in Season 3, other than making sure I got my Crusader to Level 70, was to work on Greater Rifts.

Overall, I’m glad I decided to do that because there wasn’t much else to do in Season 3.  There were much fewer Seasonal Achievements than in previous Seasons, so there wasn’t a whole lot to blog about.  In addition, I really hadn’t put much effort into Greater Rifts before Season 3.

Greater Rifts in Torment I (Season 3)

I hadn’t put very much effort into doing Greater Rifts before Season 3 of Diablo III started.  There wasn’t any particular reason why I hadn’t been working on them.  I guess I was much more focused on Seasonal Achievements that didn’t involve Rifts during Season 1 and Season 2.

My plan has always been to try and do something different each Season.  Sometimes, that means earning Achievements I’d never gone after before.  There have been times when I switched up my play style or got into a game with other players.  (I usually stick to solo games).

For Season 3, I decided to focus primarily on Greater Rifts.  I knew that I didn’t stand a chance of getting on any Leaderboards.  Instead, I decided to sort of make my own Leaderboard, in this blog, by posting my results here.

Hearthstone: Free Card Pack From Banana Tavern Brawl

Tavern Brawl is something new in Heartstone. Each Brawl lasts for only a few days, and then gets replaced by a completely different one. There are unique rules for each Tavern Brawl, which I think helps to keep it interesting. To my surprise, I’m actually finding the Tavern Brawls to be a lot of fun!

In order to access a Tavern Brawl, a player must have at least one deck that is level 20 (or higher). It doesn’t matter which deck that happens to be. This time (and in the previous Tavern Brawl) player who won their first match received a free pack of cards.

I think of this particular Tavern Brawl as the “Banana Brawl”. It had some special banana cards that players could use in a number of ways. I ended up wining 2 matches before the “Bananas Brawl” ended. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on June 24, 2015.
