Still Always at the Doctor’s Office

Earlier this year, I wrote a blog post called Always at the Doctor’s Office because it seemed like I had been spending an increasing amount of time there.

That blog post covered January to the end of May of 2019. This blog picks up where the first one left off. The main reason I am writing this is to track how often I go to the doctor, as well as how sick I had become before going to one.

How a Window Air Conditioner Made Me Sick

My husband and I had a window air conditioner in our bedroom. We were lucky to have a relative come over and install it for us. At the time the work was done, everything looked great. The years were not kind to this air conditioner, nor the perch it was sitting on.

What we didn’t realize, until we had the air conditioner removed, was that it was very likely making us both sick. My immune system sucks, so this probably hit me harder than it did my husband.

How to Research a Medication for Allergens

Let’s say your doctor has prescribed a medication for you, based on your health issues and symptoms. It is a drug that you have never taken before. Your doctor believes it will help you.

Many people will simply fill the prescription and take the medicine. I, however, cannot do that because I have a whole lot of allergies. I learned the hard way that some medicines contain things I am allergic to.

My decision on whether or not to take a medication starts with research.

The Trump Administration wants to enact a policy that will give them an unprecedented way to cause harm to people who are disabled. Part of the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Overview includes the intention to view the social media of people who are disabled, and who currently receive Social Security Disability benefits.

Telemedicine Worked for Me

I have chronic illnesses and often get sick. Some of my chronic illnesses are autoimmune diseases. This isn’t anything new – I’ve been like this for as long as I can remember.

In July, the sinus infection that I had been trying to fight off started winning the battle. By the time I realized that I needed to see a doctor – everything was closed. What could I do? The solution to my problem was telemedicine.

A Timeline of the GOP’s Attempts to Destroy Obamacare – Part Three – Continued

This blog post is a continuation of everything significant that happened with Obamacare, Medicare, Medicaid, and access to reproductive health care in the United States in 2019. Part Three left off at the end of June of 2019. This blog picks up in July of 2019.

You may want to go back and take a look at the efforts that the Trump administration and the GOP made to destroy people’s access to health care in 2017 and in 2018.

Health Care is a Human Right

We live in a world that can feel very divided. There are things that all humans have in common, though. We all get sick. Sometimes, the cure is bed rest, other times it might be antibiotics.

Most, if not all of us, have gotten injured badly enough to require medical care. Some people require surgery – to remove impacted wisdom teeth, set a broken leg, remove a rupturing appendix, or to give birth via caesarian section.

Health care is a human right. Every human has the right to have all of their physical and mental health care needs taken care of. This isn’t just my opinion. It is a concept that has been around for a very long time.

Always at the Doctor’s Office

The majority of the time I have gone outside in 2019 were in order to do two things. I was either going to get groceries, or I was headed for the doctor’s office.

To me, it feels like I’ve needed more trips to the doctor this year than typical. I haven’t had the energy to keep up with writing about it, so I’m just going to put the whole story into this blog post.

Why I Started Using CBD

Those who know me well are aware that I have several chronic illnesses. Most of those illnesses cause pain, which can sometimes be unbearable.

There is no cure for any of my chronic illnesses, and I don’t want to take opioids for pain relief. After doing some research, I determined that CBD oil was a good choice for me.
