The Dwarves Explore the Hinterlands

The Dwarves are Hansbrix the Hunter (and his pet bear, Fridge) and Bradanna the Priest. My husband and I have been playing these two characters together, completing parts of Azeroth zone by zone. There are things that we missed out on the first time we played (other characters) through some of the Cataclysm content.

It is kind of strange to consider that new characters start out in content that was introduced to the game during the Cataclysm expansion. Eventually, The Dwarves will run into The Burning Crusade content, which is older than the Cataclysm re-booted zones.

The Dwarves, World of Warcraft 1 comment on The Dwarves Visit the Darkmoon Faire

The Dwarves Visit the Darkmoon Faire

This blog is part of my series about The Dwarves. I’ve got a Dwarven Priest named Bradanna, and my husband, Shawn, has a Dwarven Hunter named Hansbrix (who has a bear named Fridge). We are playing these two characters and working our way through Azeroth, zone by zone.

In this one, I feature some screenshots from The Dwarves brief visit to the Darkmoon Faire. Our characters hadn’t been to it before (but we, as players, had). In short, things didn’t quite work out as planned – so The Dwarves will likely need to visit the Darkmoon Faire again sometime.

These screenshots were taken on May 4, 2015.

The Dwarves Explore Gnomeregan

This blog is part of the series that I am putting together about The Dwarves. My husband and I are running two low level Dwarves through Azeroth, one zone at a time. He has a Hunter named Hansbrix (with a pet bear named Fridge). I have a Priest named Bradanna.

In this blog, I post the highlights of The Dwarves trip through Gnomeregan. They also finished up some “odds and ends” while they were on the way from Arathi Highlands and heading back through Dun Morogh.

The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on April 25, May 2, and May 4, 2015.

Pre-Expansion Events, World of Warcraft 1 comment on Zombie Infestation

Zombie Infestation

In October of 2008, there was a world event in World of Warcraft that has since been referred to as the “Zombie Infestation” or the “Zombie Plague”. It appeared after patch 3.0.2 and preceded the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.  I’ll leave you to read the information I linked to on WoW Wiki if you would like to see some more detailed information about this world event.

The Dwarves Explore Arathi Highlands

This blog is part of the series I am doing about The Dwarves. Hansbrix is a Hunter (with a pet named Fridge) and Bradanna is a Priest. My husband and I are leveling them up together as we complete zones in World of Warcraft. This blog focuses on the things they encountered in the Arathi Highlands zone. I also add in my own commentary, where needed.

The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on April 20, April 21, April 22, April 23, and April 25, 2015.

World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft other 1 comment on My Thoughts About the WoW Token

My Thoughts About the WoW Token

I am what can be described as an extremely casual World of Warcraft player. I don’t have any Level 100 characters, have barely touched the Mists of Pandaria content, and am currently spending most of my WoW time on a low level Dwarf Priest (who is running with my husband’s low level Dwarf hunter). This is not a complaint, as I am quite happy where I am at in the game. I’m having fun.

It seems to me that many video game related blogs are primarily intended as a source of news. There is nothing wrong with this. Personally, I just don’t have it in me to keep up with WoW in the way that several other writers are able to. When the WoW Token was first revealed, there were tons of blogs that discussed it. Now, a few months later, I’m finally ready to share my thoughts about it.

The Dwarves Explore the Wetlands

This blog is part of the series about The Dwarves – two low level Dwarf characters that my husband Shawn and I are playing in World of Warcraft. He has a Hunter named Hansbrix (with a bear named Fridge) and I have a Priest named Bradanna.  Together, these two Dwarves are adventuring through Azeroth and completing zones one at a time.

The screenshots you see in this blog are the highlights from The Wetlands.  They were taken on March 12, March 16, March 22, March 24, March 26, April 3, April 4, and April 8, 2015.

The Dwarves Explore Loch Modan

This blog is part of the series about The Dwarves – two low level Dwarf characters that my husband Shawn and I are playing in World of Warcraft. His is Hansbrix, a Hunter.  Mine is Bradanna, a Priest.  Together, The Dwarves are adventuring through Azeroth, one zone at a time.

We’ve barely begun, and it has been interesting to take a look at the old content again.  Much of it is still fun and holds up pretty well.  Some of it however, would be better if there was more background story provided.  There have also been some things in the game that I wasn’t paying attention to last time around, but that stands out to me as very problematic today.

Elders of Northrend Achievement – Fail!

Most of the blogs I have written that feature Riglee, my Gnome Death Knight (DK), are about her attempt to solo a dungeon.  (It’s the “Riglee Does Dungeons” series).  This time, I did something a little bit different.  I wanted to see my DK, who is now Level 70 after doing some world events, could visit all of the Elders in Northrend.  Last time I tried this, she lacked Cold Weather Flying and only managed to reach a couple of Elders.

This time?  Things went a little bit better, but ultimately ended in failure.  There are two Elders that she simply cannot get to.  Maybe next year Riglee will be big enough to get to at least one of them.  The screenshots you see here were taken on February 25, 2015.

The Dwarves Celebrate Lunar Fest

Lunar Fest is a world event in World of Warcraft.  It corresponds to the Chinese New Year, or Lunar New Year, in the “real world”.  As you may have guessed, the dates that Lunar Fest takes place can change a little bit from year to year. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on February 16, and February 19, 2015.

This blog is part of the series I am doing about The Dwarves.  My husband, Shawn, and I started playing two low level Dwarf characters together. Mine is Bradanna, who is a Priest. His is Hansbrix, a Hunter who is the reincarnation of what used to be his main character (now deleted). It was time to find out what these two low level Dwarves could do in Lunar Fest.
