I wrote this short sci-fi story in 2014, on a whim. It was originally published on a website that no longer exists, and that allowed writers continue to own the work they posted there.

This episode is part of my participation in NaPodPoMo 2017. It is the tenth anniversary of NaPodPoMo. In this episode, I read a long piece of writing that I wrote in February of 2015.
The story is called “The Saga of the Hot Water Heater“. It is a true story about when my husband and I had absolutely no hot water due to a broken hot water heater.

I wrote this short science-fiction story in 2014. At the time, I was writing for a website that has since gone under and disappeared. The website’s owner made it clear that all writers owned whatever work they posted.

Turning 40 is a milestone. People who reach this particular birthday sometimes feel the need to re-evaluate their lives, make “mid-life crisis” kind of changes, or obsess about getting old.
Instead of freaking out, I decided to put together 40 pieces of wisdom that I had learned over the years. These are not listed in order of importance, or any other kind of order.

“Another Day, Another Dollar” is a short piece of science-fiction that I wrote in 2012. It is the first piece of science-fiction that I’d ever attempted to write.
Back then, I was still using Facebook. I got involved with what turned out to be a very short lived group of writers that all wrote a story based on the same prompt. One day, the creator of the group disbanded it, and that was the end of that.
This short story is the first piece I read in my newly created Words of Jen podcast.
