Quel’thalas Tower

In episode six of Skolnick’s Warcraft Less Traveled podcast, he gave directions for how to get to the Quel’thalas Tower.

This is a location that I visited before Cataclysm. The first time, it was so that I could attend an RP wedding event. If I remember correctly, I was “summoned” into the location. Obviously, this meant that I had no idea how to actually get there on my own, until I heard this episode of Warcraft Less Traveled.

Tanaris Underwater Mining Village

In episode number five of Skolnick’s Warcraft Less Traveled podcast, he talked about the Tanaris Underwater Mining Village. This was a location that I tried, many times, to get to before Cataclysm. Sadly, my attempts all ended in failure. Therefore, I don’t have any personal screenshots to show you of what this location looked like before Cataclysm.

Ironforge Airport – After Cataclysm

One of the great things that happened after Cataclysm was that players were now able to use their flying mounts in Eastern Kingdoms.

As a result, Hansbrix and I no longer had to make the frustrating, tedious, journey up the mountain, on foot, to get to what once was commonly referred to as “the Ironforge Airport”. Instead, we flew through Dun Morogh. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on January 9, 2012

I was able to visit the Ironforge Airport before Cataclysm. I took dozens of screenshots of my journey, and intended on putting them into this blog. But then, I ran out of time.

The Azshara Crater

I was inspired to try and find this place after hearing Skolnick talk about it in his Warcraft Less Traveled podcast, episode number 2.

This wasn’t too difficult to find. It seems that Blizzard has “fixed” the quirk that allowed players to access the inside of the crater itself, so I wasn’t able to get in. But, I still got to see a lot of cool stuff that was mentioned in the podcast. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on November 2, 2010.

Later, after the Cataclysm Expansion was released, I went back to the Azshara Crater to see what, if anything, had changed.

I first heard about this place in the first episode of Skolnick’s Warcraft Less Traveled podcast. The abandoned Tauren Farm is on the southwestern Silithus coast.

Anduin Wrynn Grows Up

Anduin Wrynn, son of King of Stormwind Varian Wrynn, went through a major growth spurt just in time for the Cataclysm expansion. The first screenshot is “Before”. It was taken on March 10, 2010.

This second screenshot is “After”. It was taken on November 30, 2010. The Cataclysm expansion was released on December 7, 2010, which means that Anduin Wrynn became a teenager right before the Cataclysm happened.

Zalazane’s Fall – Dance Of De Spirits

This is the final part of my series about Zalazane’s Fall. It was a pre-Cataclysm event for the Horde. All of my Horde characters were low level, so I’ve only included the quests that were accessible to low level Horde players. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on September 29, 2010.

In the previous blog, I stopped after turning in a quest to Vol’jin. This blog focuses on the last quest I was able to do in the Zalazane’s Fall event. It is called “Dance of the Spirits”.

Zalazane’s Fall – Lady of Da Tigers

This is the next part of my series about Zalazane’s Fall. It was the pre-Cataclysm event for the Horde. All of my Horde characters were low level, so my blogs only include the quests from the event that were accessible to low level Horde characters.

In the previous blog, you turned in your Troll recruits to Champion Uru’zin. He has no more quests for you, so you go back to Vanira for a new quest – “Lady of Da Tigers”. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on September 29, 2010.
