The Dwarves Celebrate Love is In the Air

Love is in the Air is the name of a world event in World of Warcraft.  It corresponds to Valentine’s Day in the “real world”.  The exact dates the Love is in the Air event takes place can vary from year to year, but it always covers February 14.  In 2015, this world event came before Lunar fest (which felt strange to me).

Shawn and I decided to take our low level Dwarf characters and see what they could do in the Love is in the Air world event.  The “holidays” always include at least a few quests that low level characters can do.  This blog features the highlights of Hansbrix the Hunter’s, and Bradanna the Priest’s, shared experience in the “Valentine’s Day” event in WoW.  The screenshots you see in this blog are from February 5, February 7, February 8, February 9, and February 12, 2015.

The Dwarves Explore Dun Morogh

Shortly after the Warlords of Draenor expansion was released, Shawn decided to start playing World of Warcraft (WoW) again.  He wanted to start “from scratch” so he deleted his character and then created a new Level 1 version of it.  In other words, his original Hansbrix Dwarf Hunter disappeared from Azeroth and was reincarnated into a new Hansbrix Dwarf Hunter.

It just so happened that I had a low level Dwarf Priest that I rolled a long time ago and had been neglecting.  I think Bradanna was somewhere around Level 10 or so.  It didn’t take long for the new Hansbrix to catch up.

Riglee Does Dungeons, World of Warcraft 1 comment on Riglee Does Dungeons – Scholomance

Riglee Does Dungeons – Scholomance

How many dungeons can a Death Knight do all by herself?  The “Riglee Does Dungeons” series of blogs is my attempt to find out.  Riglee, my Gnome Death Knight, was Level 67 when she entered Scholomance.  I’d gone through it once before, on a different character.  My memory of it included a room full of “zombies” to kill and I was looking forward to seeing my DK slaughter them.

The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on August 8, 2014.  My original intent was to post the blog right away, but that did not end up happening.  Riglee went into Scholomance long before the Warlords of Draenor expansion was released and before the character upgrades happened.

The Champion’s Treadblade

In 2014, Blizzard Entertainment paired up with Paul Jr. and his team from the television show American Choppers.  The purpose was to have two choppers created – one based on the Horde and one based on the Alliance.  This mini-version of the regular show was called Azeroth Choppers.

You can now obtain the Alliance Champion’s Treadblade in the World of Warcraft game. Start saving up your gold!

Trick-Or-Treating Eastern Kingdoms

Just for fun, I decided to go trick-or-treating in Azeroth. It is part of the Hallow’s End World Event. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I love to go do the in-game Halloween related stuff. This year, my goal was to get enough Tricky Treats to obtain the Hallowed Helm.

This blog focuses on the Candy Buckets that were located in the zones within the Eastern Kingdoms. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on October 27, 2014 and October 28, 2014.

Warlords of Draenor Beta – Garrison Attack

This is my last blog in the short series I have been doing about the World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor beta.  Sadly, my computer didn’t have enough space for all of Blizzard’s lovely stuff, so I ended up having to remove the beta.

I’ve been holding off on posting this blog because I suspect it might include “spoilers”.  I didn’t understand what I was doing at the time, but I believe that what occurred was what I’ve since heard referred to as a “Garrison Attack”.

Old and New Character Models

The newest patch of World of Warcraft included lots of new stuff.  Many of the character models have been given an update.  This isn’t really “news”.  We’ve been hearing about this for a while now.  Everyone who cared to could easily view a preview of the new character models via YouTube and various blogs.  That being said, it still feels a bit strange to log in and see that your character looks a bit different now.

What Effect has Warcraft had on your Life Outside Gaming?

This blog is the final part of the series I am writing because I wanted to participate in the 10 Years: 10 Questions project.  I was able to answer seven of the ten questions before the deadline.  For me, that is really good! I decided that I wanted to complete the entire series anyway, just for fun.

The reason I’m glad I gave this a try is because it forced me to write about my thoughts and experiences in (or related to) World of Warcraft (WoW). I’ve dabbled in writing about WoW a little bit, but always felt as though my efforts were inadequate. This project gave me an excuse to give it another try.  The more you write about something, the better your writing about that topic becomes.

Question 10: What effect has Warcraft had on your life outside gaming?

Are there any Regrets from your Time in Game?

This blog is part of the series I am writing because I wanted to participate in the 10 Years: 10 Questions project. I completed some of the questions before the deadline, and decided to finish the rest anyway.

The questions are giving me a reason to do some writing about the World of Warcraft game, my experiences in it, and thoughts about it.  Answering the questions is also giving me a reason to put something else on this blog, which is nice.

Question 9: Are there any regrets from your time in game?

Admit it – Do you Read Quest Text or Not?

This blog is part of the series I started writing because I wanted to participate in the 10 Years: 10 Questions project. I was unable to complete all ten questions by the deadline. When I started, I realized that there was a good chance that I would be unable to finish everything in time. I got seven done! The remaining questions are being answered for my own amusement.

Question 8: Admit it – Do you read quest text or not?
