Warlords of Draenor Beta – My Draenei has no Hair!

This blog is part of my series with my thoughts about, and experiences in, the World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor beta. So far, things have been interesting! I decided to roll a pre-made Level 90 character so I could see some of the new stuff without having to actually take the time to level a character all the way up.  When I started playing this beta, I rolled a brand new Level 1 female Orc Warrior.

Next, I thought it would be a good idea to roll an Alliance character, so I could see both sides of things.  The WoW character I’ve spent the most time playing is my female Draenei Shaman – so that’s what I rolled.  I did not expect to end up with a bald female Draenei, but that is what happened!  The screenshots that you see in this blog were taken on July 20, 2014.

Warlords of Draenor Beta – Orc Starting Zone

This blog is the first in what I intend to become a series about my experiences in, and thoughts about, the World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor Beta. I did not expect to get in, so it was especially exciting to receive the email that let me know that I had been selected to play the beta.

It turned out that there was a battle to be fought before I could access the beta. First, I needed to move a lot of stuff off of my computer and onto my external hard drive in order to make space for the beta. That took the better part of a day to achieve.  The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on July 13, 2014.

Deadmines

Recently, I decided to run my Death Knight Gnome, Riglee, through Deadmines. It had changed a lot since I first went through that dungeon in 2010. I decided to see if I had, by chance, taken any screenshots of what the old Deadmines was like.

I have a tendency to take a ton of screenshots while I’m playing a video game. This leads to folders full of screenshots that I mean to put into a blog. I guess I am a “digital hoarder”, because I have kept lots of them, just in case I need them someday.

As such, I was able to find some screenshots that show a little bit of what Deadmines looked like in 2010.  Most of the screenshots you see in this blog were taken on August 20, 2010.  A few were taken on August 30, 2010.

Riglee Does Dungeons – Deadmines

How many dungeons can a Gnome Death Knight do all by herself?  The “Riglee Does Dungeons” series of blogs is my attempt to find out.  This time, Riglee ran through Deadmines.  She was Level 67 when she started (and that hasn’t changed yet).

She is wearing the Gnomeregon Tabard as she goes through as many dungeons as possible.  It will help increase her reputation with Gnomeregon.  This blog shows Riglee’s trip through Deadmines.  All of the screenshots that you see in this blog were taken on June 13, 2014.

Riglee Does Dungeons – Stormwind Stockade

How many dungeons can my Death Knight Gnome, Riglee, solo?  The “Riglee Does Dungeons” series is my attempt to find out. She was at Level 67 when she started this adventure.

She is going to wear the Gnomeregan Tabard as she goes through each dungeon, so she can increase her reputation with Gnomeregon. This blog shows Riglee’s quick trip through the Stormwind Stockade.  All of the screenshots in this blog were taken on May 24, 2014.

Treasure Goblin

The Treasure Goblin Pet is the World of Warcraft version of the Treasure Goblins that appear in Diablo III.  Those of you who purchased the Collector’s Edition of the Diablo III: Reaper of Souls expansion have access to your very own Treasure Goblin (in World of Warcraft).  It is among the special items that Blizzard created that are “crossovers”.

Some of you that have been spending a lot of time playing Diablo III: RoS might have forgotten about this little World of Warcraft related freebie.  Take a minute to log into WoW and pull this little guy out of your mailbox.

Riglee Does Dungeons – Gnomeregan

After completing the TrialMan Challenge, I was looking for something else to do in World of Warcraft. Playing my Orc Mage, Nazuga, for so long was fun, but it was time for a change. I was missing my Gnome Death Knight, Riglee.

One of the fun things about a DK is that you can solo dungeons. Let’s see how many dungeons my little DK can solo. I started with my favorite one, Gnomeregon. These screenshots were taken on March 13, 2014.

The Hearthsteed

Hearthstone has officially launched.  It came with a cool “special offer”. Win 3 games in Play Mode in Hearthstone, and the Hearthsteed is yours! You can get it for free.

Obviously, this is Blizzard’s way of trying to get WoW players interested in trying out Heartstone. I’d been playing the Hearthstone beta, and liked it enough to want to keep playing. So, for me, it was a “no brainer” to go get this mount.  I get a reward for doing something I was going to do anyway!

TrialMan Challenge – Day 10

I have now, officially, completed the World of Warcraft TrialMan Challenge. It took much longer than 10 chronological days. The rules do not require that you complete the challenge in 10 days of “real time”.

Instead, it is acceptable to play the character you created for the challenge in the next 10 times that you play World of Warcraft. You can even switch out and play a different character (but that obviously won’t count toward the TrialMan Challenge).

I knew that it would take me longer than most people to finish the TrialMan Challenge. I’m a very casual player of WoW. Most of my gaming time is devoted to Diablo III. In order to finish the challenge, I had to find a way to make it work around my job obligations and my chronic illnesses. It is so nice to be done! Here is the final blog that focuses on Nazuga, my Orc Mage.

TrialMan Challenge – Day 9

I am nearly finished with the 10 day TrialMan Challenge! Obviously, I am taking much longer than 10 actual days to complete it. That’s ok, because the rules allow for that.

You can even play your other WoW characters while you do this challenge. Just keep track of the one that is involved in TrialMan. Here is the holiday flavored adventures of Nazuga, the Orc Mage, for Day 9 of TrialMan.
