My Plans for Season 7

Season 7
Season 7
of Diablo III will begin on August 5, 2016.  I’ve played in every Season so far, and am looking forward to the start of a brand new one.  In general, I make a last minute decision about what class to play, jump in, and see what happens.

For Season 7, I’m going to do something different and actually make a plan about what I would like to accomplish.  What would happen if I went in with specific goals in mind? My decision making process might be helpful to those of you who can’t decide what you want to do in Season 7.

Season Journey Chapters I – IV (Season 6)

Chapter 4 completed Season 6Each new Season in Diablo III comes with a new Season Journey for players to work their way through.  The Season Journey has changed from one Season to the next, which is a good thing because it keeps us from getting bored.

In this blog, I have details about what the Season Journey for Season 6 was like.  I was able to complete up through Chapter IV.  (There was more to do – but this was as far as I got).

Season Journey Chapter 4 (Season 5)

Completed Chapter 4 Season 5The Season Journey was first introduced into Diablo III during Season 4. It has returned for Season 5, but is not exactly the same as it was before.

Some of the objectives have been changed from one Season to the next.

Players needed to complete Chapters 1-4 in order to receive the Seasonal portrait frame, pet, and armor set. There were additional parts of the Season Journey to complete after Chapter 4, but I was not able to finish them. (I almost got Slayer accomplished, but failed to finish a Level 30 Greater Rift).

Feats of Strength Achievements from 2012 Web Promotion

Brushed Up On the Barb Achievement completedIn 2012, Blizzard had a fun web promotion where players could create a customized banner for every class in Diablo III. It took place before the original Diablo III game was released, and was probably intended to create excitement about the game. The first class that players could create a banner for was the Barbarian. Other classes rolled out, one at a time, after that.

The entire promotion was placed on a website called “Darkness Falls, Heroes Rise”. The website no longer exists, but there is a Forum post that has information about it. Some of the banners made by players were displayed on that site.

Diablo III was released on May 15, 2012. Players who participated in the web promotion received the Feats of Strength achievements that were connected to it in June of 2012. It is no longer possible to earn any of the achievements that were connected to the web promotion.

Season Journey Chapter 3 (Season 5)

Chapter-3-complete-Season-5-500x331The Season Journey was first introduced into Diablo III during Season 4. It has returned for Season 5, but is not exactly the same.

Some of the objectives have been changed from one Season to the next.

To me, it felt like Chapter 3 was quick and easy to complete. Or, it felt that way compared to my experience with Chapter 3 in Season 4.  Players must complete the Season Journey through Chapter 4 in order to receive a portrait frame, pet, and full set of armor.

Season Journey Chapter 2 (Season 5)

Chapter-2-Season-5-start-500x326The Season Journey was first introduced into Diablo III during Season 4.

It is back for Season 5, but is not exactly the same as it was in Season 4. The small changes keep things interesting.

Players who complete the Season Journey through Chapter 4 will receive a portrait frame, a pet, and an entire set of armor. The opportunity to earn an entire set of armor is something new for Season 5.

Season Journey Chapter 1 (Season 5)

Chapter-1-Season-5-start-500x336The Season Journey first became part of the game during Season 4 of Diablo III.

In Season 4, players needed to complete Chapters 1-4 in order to earn a pet and a portrait frame.

The objectives for Chapter 1 have remained somewhat the same between Season 4 and Season 5. There are a few brand new ones mixed in to make things interesting. Players must complete Chapters 1-4 during Season 5 to earn a pet that looks like a tree, a brand new portrait frame, and an entire set of armor (specific to the class of your character).

Diablo Game Play, Diablo III 60 comments on How to Extract Legendary Powers with Kanai’s Cube

How to Extract Legendary Powers with Kanai’s Cube

Kanais-Cube-500x451Season 4 of Diablo III was the first time that players had access to Kanai’s Cube.

Technically, players who decided to check out the Player Test Realm (PTR) were able to find and use Kanai’s Cube before it was placed into the game.

So, for me, the first opportunity I had to use it was during Season 4.

I was playing hardcore characters during Season 4, so all of the things I put in Kanai’s Cube can only affect my hardcore characters. Eventually, I want to “complete” the entire Kanai’s Cube – by putting all the stuff into it (in both hardcore and softcore).

Season 4 Wrap Up

zena-season-4Season 4 of Diablo III has ended. I like to take a moment to look back upon a Season and do a “wrap up” of how it went. So far, every Season has been different from the rest (as Blizzard worked on figuring out what worked well and what didn’t).

Overall, I had fun with Season 4. By the time it ended, I had completed my main goals for the Season. There were additional things I was working on, but I considered those to be “extras”.

Season 4 was the first time I rolled more than one Seasonal character. It wasn’t my intent to split my focus between Seasonal characters, but things ended up that way. I started out with a hardcore Wizard named Sparkle, and my husband Shawn started out with a hardcore Demon Hunter.
