Spring Pollen Season – Day Twenty-Six

Yesterday, I went outside to get groceries.  My Epi-Pen was going to expire in April, and I was able to get the much less expensive CVS version instead.

My husband and I played Pokémon GO in the short distance between the grocery store, the CVS, and a restaurant we picked up food from.

This was enough to knock me out for the day.

Spring Pollen Season – Day Twenty-Five

I’ve been waking up dehydrated for days in a row.  It could be due to the allergy medications I’m taking (more often than when it is not Spring Pollen Season).  Or, it might be due to frequent sneezing/coughing stuff out of my throat and lungs/extra histamine my body is producing from the pollen.

I didn’t get enough sleep.

My eyes are itching, again, and that’s starting to be my “new normal.”

Spring Pollen Season – Day Twenty-Four

I was up really late  – and into the morning – once again trying to work while the pollen count was the lowest.  Things didn’t go so well.

It was extremely windy the whole time.  Wind kicks up dust, dirt, and pollen, and spreads it all over the air.  Makes me cough, even when I’m indoors.

My eyes are itching and I’m about to take medication for that.  Yesterday, I started getting the unfortunate digestive symptoms that happen when I’ve been overloaded with pollen for too long.

Spring Pollen Season – Day Twenty-Three

Today’s pollen count is 8.7 – and I am miserable.

I woke up because a neighbor was yelling.  It is extremely hard to wake me up, especially when I’ve been really sick for a long time.

Typically, being woken up by the sound of a man screaming would set off my PTSD, but I’m too physically depleted for that to happen.  My body doesn’t have the energy to produce the chemical reactions PTSD requires.

Spring Pollen Season – Day Twenty-One

Today, the pollen count is 7.7.  Yesterday was 7.3.

Things are getting worse and there is no end in sight.

My husband wants to know what he can do to help me feel better.  If there was something, I’d be more than happy to tell him what it is and let him do that for me.

Spring Pollen Season – Day Twenty

Twenty days of my life – destroyed by allergies

I slept all day again.  Finally got out of bed and am somewhat dazed.

It feels something like what “healthy” people feel when they have a really bad cold.  A head full of clouds and heavy lungs.

I’m unfocused and have to figure out how I’m going to manage to write the work that is due tomorrow.

Spring Pollen Season – Day Nineteen

The pollen count is a dangerous 9.4.  I figure people who have no allergies to pollen are probably feeling this one.

Earlier this pollen season, I switched over and became nocturnal – for self preservation.  I can get some work done in the wee hours of the morning before the sun comes up and then sleep through the thickest part of the pollen that spews by day.

Everything hurts.

As I write this, I’m hoping to gather enough energy so I can take a shower.

Spring Pollen Season 2017 – Day Eighteen

Yesterday, for no good reason, I decided to go outside.

There are times when I just want to pretend I’m “normal” – and can go outside for a little while and do simple things like everyone else.

My husband and I went for a little walk to a nearby restaurant that has a PokéStop – which we have done several times before.
