Flight Rising: Sunbeam Soldier

The Sunbeam Soldier was the holiday Familiar for the 2015 Brightshine Jubilee. This holiday celebrates the Light Flight. The only way to make a purchase of the special holiday items was with Immaculate Tablets, a currency players needed to either collect or buy from the Auction House.

The previous holiday Familiars looked like bears. This one doesn’t look like a bear at all. I think this means we are done with the bears and moving on to… acolytes? All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: Theme Week – Progenitor Dragons

Every week, Flight Rising posts a new theme for players to participate in. You can find the current theme at the top of the Dragon Share Forums. All players who feel that any of their dragons fits the theme are welcome to participate.

It’s super easy to join in the fun. All you have to do is reply to the forum post and add links to your dragons. You can add some description or further explanation if you would like to.

The Progenitor Dragons theme became active on March 19, 2015 (and is no longer accepting further posts to it). In this blog, I show off the dragons I posted into that theme. All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: Timber Tender Familiar

The Timber Tender Familiar was the holiday Familiar for the 2015 Greenskeeper Gathering. It took place during the last week of May of 2015.

This holiday focuses on the Nature Flight. Players who wanted to obtain the Timber Tender needed to gather up some special holiday currency and spend it at the Festive Favors booth while the holiday was going on.

If you were not able to collect the Timber Tender while the 2015 Greenskeeper Gathering was going on, your best bet is to check the Auction House for it. Be prepared to pay high prices. All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: Making Ugly Dragons Prettier

Flight Rising is a game where players are in charge of a Lair full of dragons. Pick a male and a female – breed them – and see what the babies look like. There are things in the game that can help players figure out what the babies might look like before they commit to breeding two potential parent dragons. Sometimes, despite best efforts, players end up with some severely ugly dragons.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Some people are greatly amused by ugly dragons. There’s even a Tumblr blog called Ugly Dragons of Flight Rising. Recently, I intentionally purchased what might be considered an ugly dragon from the Auction House. I found a way to make her much prettier!

Flight Rising: Wavebreak Snarler

The Wavebreak Snarler is the holiday Familiar for the 2015 Wavecrest Saturnalia event.  It took place the last week of April and first week of May of 2015.  Each holiday event connects with a certain Dragon Flight.  This one is for the Water Flight.

The easiest way to obtain a holiday Familiar is to gather up enough of the specialized currency that the particular festival requires.  Or, if you missed it, you might be able to find it on the Auction House (for a high price).  Save your leftover holiday currency.  You can use it next year.

Flight Rising: Cloudkeeper Herald

The Cloudkeeper Herald was the holiday Familiar for the Mistral Jamboree 2015.  The event took place at the end of March, and the beginning of April, 2015.   The Mistral Jamboree was connected to the Wind Flight.

The easiest way to obtain a holiday Familiar is to get it while the event is going on.  Gather up the right amount of the special holiday currency and use it to by yourself a brand new Familiar. Those that did not obtain it might find some on the Auction House (for very high prices).

Flight Rising: Selling Nocturne Babies

The Night of the Nocturne festival in Flight Rising took place at the end of December of 2014 (and the very beginning of January 2015). At the time, the Nocturne breed of dragons was brand new – and everybody wanted some. They were difficult to obtain.

Naturally, people took advantage of this and quickly bred some Nocturne babies to sell on the Auction House (for high prices).  It made sense to do that.

It’s been a few months since then, and I decided to breed my two Nocturne dragons. The prices on Nocturnes had dropped… a little bit. Somebody out there who wanted one of the new breed of dragons might be able to afford them now. Here’s what happened with the baby Nocturnes I put on the Auction House.  All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: Theme Week – Candy Dragons

Every week, Flight Rising puts together a fun theme in the Dragon Share forum. To participate, a player can simply link their dragons that fit the current theme into a comment under the topic. It’s fun to take a look at everybody else’s dragons.

On February 2, 2015, Flight Rising brought back the Candy theme “for new players, genes, and even apparel”. Each player can add up to three dragons that fit the theme.

I only had one, so I put Necco in there. My husband, Shawn, named this dragon after Necco wafers. (The colors fit).

Flight Rising: Superior Achievement

The coolest thing about Flight Rising is that you get to manage a Lair full of dragons.  Sometimes, though, the Lair gets too full.  I’d reached the point where I was having trouble keeping all my dragons fed because there were just so many of them.

Part of the problem was self-inflicted. There are days when I don’t have time to play Flight Rising and gather more food for the dragons to eat. The problem may have resolved itself if I had the time to play every day.

Flight Rising: Murktooth Bramblekeep

The Murktooth Bramblekeep was the holiday Familiar for the 2015 Trickmurk Circus event.  This Elemental Holiday took place at the end of February 2015.  The easiest way to obtain a holiday Familiar is to gather up the right amount of holiday currency while the event is going on.  Miss that “window” and it will be a lot more difficult to get that particular Familiar.

The Murktooth Bramblekeep cost 35 Shimmering Pinecones (the holiday currency that connects to the Trickmurk Circus).  All you have to do to get the holiday currency is Gather Items.  Make sure you use the dropdown box to select “Shadow”.  The Shimmering Pinecones will randomly drop during the Trickmurk Circus.
