Defending Ironsmith Maldonado (Season 2)

Season 2 in Diablo III is coming to an end soon. I was hoping to keep up with blogging about it but have fallen a little bit behind. Overall, I’ve been enjoying Season 2. It provides a nice distraction from the horrible allergy season that arrived around the same time Season 2 did.

My main goal for Season 2 was to get my hardcore Demon Hunter to level 70. This blog shows more of my progress towards that goal. It shows the highlights from a set of Act III Bounties that I did (in Normal difficulty) immediately after the Bounties I completed in the previous blog in this series. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 25, 2015.

Killing Evil Oliver (Season 2)

The end of Season 2 in Diablo III is coming up fast! So far, I’ve been doing a good job of keeping up with the blogging I wanted to do about my experience in Season 2.

My concern was I’d procrastinate, and end up with a dead hard core Demon Hunter and a bunch of screenshots that I intended to blog about but would then be too sad to follow through with.

In this blog, Dusk the Demon Hunter is at Level 62. I’ve been playing on Normal difficulty the entire Season. After finishing the Seasonal Monster Slaying Bounties that go with Act II, I decided to move on to Act III Bounties. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 24, and March 25, 2015.

Allergy Agony

There are times when my allergies are bothering me, and I don’t mention it (or write about it). There are also times when my severe allergies / chronic illness becomes overwhelming. I’m struggling to cope with the worst allergy season I’ve experienced in years and it is draining the life out of me.

Spring arrived here in sunny California in the middle of February. The pollen count started hitting 7 around then. A pollen count of 7 is considered “medium-high”, but it is enough to make me very sick. Since then, I’ve been dealing with pollen counts of 8, 9, and 10.

Tomb of Sardar (Season 2)

This blog is part of the series I am doing about my experience in Season 2 in Diablo III. The Season is going to end soon, and with it, this series of blogs. This Season was the first time that I specifically focused on playing a hard core character.

My overall goal was to get Dusk the Demon Hunter to Level 70. Looking back, I’m glad that I did not select any other significant goals. Season 2 of Diablo III hit during an incredibly difficult allergy season for me, and I have been struggling too much “in real life” to put as much effort into Season 2 as I did in Season 1.

This blog focuses on my last trip through Act II Bounties. I managed to earn the third, and final, Seasonal Monster Slaying Achievement that connects to Act II.  The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 21, 2015.

Flight Rising: Selling Nocturne Babies

The Night of the Nocturne festival in Flight Rising took place at the end of December of 2014 (and the very beginning of January 2015). At the time, the Nocturne breed of dragons was brand new – and everybody wanted some. They were difficult to obtain.

Naturally, people took advantage of this and quickly bred some Nocturne babies to sell on the Auction House (for high prices).  It made sense to do that.

It’s been a few months since then, and I decided to breed my two Nocturne dragons. The prices on Nocturnes had dropped… a little bit. Somebody out there who wanted one of the new breed of dragons might be able to afford them now. Here’s what happened with the baby Nocturnes I put on the Auction House.  All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas – Noth the Plaguebringer

The Curse of Naxxramas solo play adventure was released before the Goblins v Gnomes expansion. Like many Hearthstone players, I opened up the first wing of Naxxramus right when it came out – for free! In order to access the rest of the content, a player must either earn enough in-game gold to do it, or pay for it with real-word currency.

My choice was to earn gold and buy the wings of Naxxramas that way. At the time I am writing this blog, I’ve opened all except the last portion. In previous blogs, I described my experience with the enemies in the first wing. This blog will focus on Noth the Plaguebringer. Some of the screenshots you see in this blog were taken on August 2, or August 10, 2014. The rest were taken on March 18, 2015.

Lost Treasure of Khan Dakab (Season 2)

At the time I am writing this blog, there is less than two weeks left of Season 2. My main goal this Season was to get my hard core Demon Hunter to level 70. As I’ve mentioned in previous blogs, Season 2 fell right into a bad allergy season. I’m glad I didn’t set myself any other goals. I simply didn’t have the energy to do very much in this time around.

This blog picks up where the last Diablo III blog left off. In that one, I featured five Act II Bounties that I finished. Immediately after that, I completed more Bounties.  The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 20, 2015.

Killing Bashiok (Season 2)

Season 2 in Diablo III is coming to an end! I’m really glad that I didn’t set any higher goals for myself beyond hitting Level 70 with my hard core Demon Hunter. He’s not quite there yet – but getting closer!

Unfortunately, my bad health has gotten in the way of me being able to fully get into Season 2. What I’ve been able to do, so far, has been fun. There’s still some time left for me to see how far I can push things. I feel like I’ve barely played compared to Season 1, and though I realize that it’s not my fault that my allergies had to flare up for weeks on end… it is still frustrating.

The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 20, 2015.

Hearthstone: Chicken Dinner

Chicken Dinner is a reward that players can earn in Hearthstone. To get it, you have to win 100 games in any mode. It gives the player 300 gold.

To me, that means the game counted all my wins in regular Play, Ranked Play, and against the Innkeeper. (It would have counted my Arena wins too, if I had any).

I earned this reward on March 9, 2015. I had no idea that this reward even existed. A quick check of some forum posts indicates that there is some debate about whether or not the game really counts a player’s wins in any mode. Others seem to be unsure if this reward is still in the game and available for players to win. Yes, it is still there!

Feats of Strength Achievements (Season 2)

Season 2 of Diablo III included some Achievements that were only obtainable for players who were playing a Seasonal character while Season 2 was active.  Earning some of them was fairly easy.

All a player had to do was earn a certain amount of Seasonal Achievement points.  It didn’t really matter which Achievements they happened to be.

The “Feats of Strength Achievements” in Season 2 are not the same as the ones that appeared during Season 1.  They have a few things in common, though.  In both Seasons, this group of Achievement unlocked special banner shapes, patterns, accents, and sigils.  The main difference is in the names of the Achievements. Players who earn them all can show off by changing their banner to show some of what they accomplished in Season 2.
