Flight Rising: Theme Week – Candy Dragons

Every week, Flight Rising puts together a fun theme in the Dragon Share forum. To participate, a player can simply link their dragons that fit the current theme into a comment under the topic. It’s fun to take a look at everybody else’s dragons.

On February 2, 2015, Flight Rising brought back the Candy theme “for new players, genes, and even apparel”. Each player can add up to three dragons that fit the theme.

I only had one, so I put Necco in there. My husband, Shawn, named this dragon after Necco wafers. (The colors fit).

Helping Mehtan the Necromancer (Season 2)

This blog is part of the series I am doing about my progress through Season 2 of Diablo III. My main goal for Season 2 is to get my hard core Demon Hunter to Level 70. I really want the transmog that unlocks after a player gets a Seasonal character to Level 70. If I manage to accomplish this goal, I will create a new one.

Along the way, I’m attempting to get as many of the Seasonal Monster Slaying Achievements as possible. I’ve been moving slowly this Season because it happened to hit at the same time as a really bad allergy season. There are days when I’m too sick to do much of anything, including play video games.

The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 14, 2015. I’m still doing Bounties in Act II, but I’ve moved the difficultly from Normal to Hard. Overall, it went pretty well.

Star Wars: Heir to the Empire – by Timothy Zahn

Star Wars: Heir to the Empire is part one in a three-book cycle. It is also referred to as “The Thrawn Trilogy”. (Thrawn is a main character in the trilogy). All three books were written by Timothy Zahn.

There seems to be some debate over whether or not The Thrawn Trilogy is considered to be canon in Star Wars lore. Some say it is (or that it should be). Others point out that the upcoming Star Wars movies aren’t following closely to what happens in this trilogy, or that they may have thrown it out altogether. I haven’t done much digging into that whole debate, so I’ll simply note it here and move on.

The Dwarves, World of Warcraft 0 comments on The Dwarves Explore Loch Modan

The Dwarves Explore Loch Modan

This blog is part of the series about The Dwarves – two low level Dwarf characters that my husband Shawn and I are playing in World of Warcraft. His is Hansbrix, a Hunter.  Mine is Bradanna, a Priest.  Together, The Dwarves are adventuring through Azeroth, one zone at a time.

We’ve barely begun, and it has been interesting to take a look at the old content again.  Much of it is still fun and holds up pretty well.  Some of it however, would be better if there was more background story provided.  There have also been some things in the game that I wasn’t paying attention to last time around, but that stands out to me as very problematic today.

Cave of the Burrowing Horror (Season 2)

This blog is part of the series I am doing about my progress through Season 2 of Diablo III.  My main goal for this Season is to get my hard core Demon Hunter to Level 70. If I can do that, I will unlock the Seasonal transmog.

I’m having a hard time this Season due “in real life” health issues. As a result, I’m taking things much slower than I did in Season 1.

The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 11, 2015. It was the same day that Blizzard announced that they would be giving players a two week notice before Season 2 would end. This announcement was not the notice, but many of us sort of freaked out and jumped into Diablo III really quick anyway.

Flight Rising: Superior Achievement

The coolest thing about Flight Rising is that you get to manage a Lair full of dragons.  Sometimes, though, the Lair gets too full.  I’d reached the point where I was having trouble keeping all my dragons fed because there were just so many of them.

Part of the problem was self-inflicted. There are days when I don’t have time to play Flight Rising and gather more food for the dragons to eat. The problem may have resolved itself if I had the time to play every day.

Hearthstone: Crafting Time

I’ve been playing Hearthstone since the beta, but have never taken in interest in learning how to craft cards.  Until recently, that is.  I got tired of being paired with opponents who had cards with Windfury on them.

Windfury allows a card attack twice in one turn.  Obviously, that’s an advantage over the minion cards that can only attack once per turn.  I did not have any cards that had Windfury.

It seemed to me that the only way to make sure that you get a particular card (or a certain type of card) is to craft it.  Sure, packs will give player five cards – but they will be random ones.

Lair of the Lacuni Event (Season 2)

This blog is part of the series I am doing about my progress through Season 2 in Diablo III. I’m playing a hard core Demon Hunter named Dusk.

My primary goal is to get him to Level 70 during the Season so I can unlock the cool transmogs that go with it. Things are moving pretty slowly so far, and that’s mostly due to Season 2 falling right into a really bad allergy season for me.

In this blog, I finally move Dusk the Demon Hunter from Act I to Act II (Normal difficulty). I started working on some Act II bounties in an effort to earn the Bounty related Achievements. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 7, 2015.

Hearthstone: Free Card Pack from Warlords of Draenor Expansion

For Christmas, one of my relatives got me the Warlords of Draenor Expansion for World of Warcraft. Inside the box was a card that had a Hearthstone code on it. The code gave me a free pack of cards to open (and add to my decks).

I forgot all about the card with the code until recently. Now seemed like a good time to use it. I was hoping it would somehow grant me a card that had Whirlwind on it, but that didn’t happen. The pack included a rare card. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on March 1, 2015.

Diablo III, Diablo Seasons 2 comments on Finding Arghus the Collector (Season 2)

Finding Arghus the Collector (Season 2)

A Demon Hunter carries a large, feathered, crossbow. He is wearing a mix of reasonably tough armor. Next to him is a green banner with some symbols on it. Above his head it says "Hardcore Seasonal".

This blog is part of the series I am doing that shows my progress through Season 2 in Diablo III. I’m playing a hard core Demon Hunter named Dusk this time.

I’m taking things slowly because Season 2 just happened to appear during what has been a really bad allergy season for me. Hard core characters have “one life to live”. I don’t want my Demon Hunter to die because I sneezed at the wrong moment or was zoned out on allergy medication.
