Gifts From Kadala

Diablo III does not have any in-game world events that resemble real world holidays. Perhaps to make up for that, the @Diablo Twitter account has been putting together some holiday related tweets.

In October, there was a cute (and creepy) story called Queen Asylla’s Trick or Treat Tour. In December, they put together a story involving Kadala and and Legendary items. Who doesn’t love Legendaries? I think the title of this story is “Gifts from Kadala”.

Prep – by Curtis Sittenfeld

Lee Fiora was very much looking forward to attending Ault School in Massachusetts. Both a boarding school and a prep school, Ault was a place that Lee had been fantasizing about attending. Her attraction to this particular school started when she first picked up a brochure.

Photos of carefully manicured green lawns, old brick buildings, and nicely dressed students gave Lee the impression that the school would be everything she had hoped for. Certainly, it would be world’s better than the public schools in South Bend, Indiana, that she had been attending so far. Lee was an overachiever, and as such, was ahead of her classmates and completely bored.

Inflatable Thunderfury

Blizzard celebrated the 11th Anniversary of World of Warcraft from November 16 through November 30, 2015. Players who logged in during that time received several collectible gifts.

I haven’t taken the time to play around with all of them, but immediately equipped the Inflatable Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. I managed to get it on all of my characters, except my Pandaren (because I couldn’t find a mailbox near him.)  The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on November 16, 2015.

Candy Crush Saga: Lemonade Lake

The third Episode of Candy Crush Saga is called Lemonade Lake.  The side of the game board shows a lake that is bright yellow.  I understand that it is supposed to be lemonade, but that doesn’t make me like the look of it any better.

It is an unappealing color that, in the real world, would indicate that the water in the lake was contaminated.  My best guess is they picked “Lemonade Lake” for the alliteration.

Art Critic

Morris found a shoulder to view artwork from.

He might be trying to figure out how to get closer to the art so he can chew it.

Mosquito Swatter Achivement

josh-mosquiera-in-diablo-iiiMosquito Swatter is a Feat of Strength Achievement. I happened to earn it while playing my hard core Barbarian in a Torment II Nephalem Rift during Season 4 of Diablo III. Like many things in Diablo III, the ability to earn this Achievement depends on randomness.

When the Rift Boss appeared, it happened to be one named Josh Mosqueira – Reaper Of ‘Soles.

This Rift Boss is named after the Josh Mosqueira who is a Game Director for Diablo III. Players have to kill him to earn the Mosquito Swatter Achievement.
