The Cragbacked Bouldursa was part of the 2014 Rockbreaker’s Ceremony in Flight Rising. It is an annual event that takes place at the end of November. This year, all of the holiday Familiars are bears. (Last time, they were Sprites).

The best and easiest way to get a holiday Familiar is to do it while the Elemental Festival is going on. If you miss that opportunity, it gets much more difficult to obtain one. There is a chance that someone may be selling the Familiar that you need in the Auction House. Expect the price to be high!

The Graveyard Guardian was part of the 2014 Riot of Rot Celebration in Flight Rising.  It is an annual event that takes place at the end of October.  This year, all of the Holiday Familiars are bears.

Personally, I think this particular familiar looks kind of creepy.  Perhaps that is best, considering that it was the featured Familiar for the Celebration that honors the Plague Flight.  If you get the chance, go take a look at the way players in the Plague Flight dress up their dragons.  It will all make sense after that.  Oh, and it also goes nicely with Halloween, which takes place about the same time as the Riot of Rot.

I’ve been working my way through the Achievements in Flight Rising.  There is something about Achievements, in any game, that motivates me to try and earn them all.  (Or, at least all the ones that seem possible and/or fun for me to go after).

In Flight Rising, there are a total of 6 Achievements that you can earn by taking your dragons into the Coliseum and leveling them.  I recently earned two of those Achievements. All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

The Hibernal Starbear was part of the 2014 Starfall Celebration in Flight Rising.  It is an annual event that takes place at the end of September.  This year, all of the Holiday Familiars are bears. (Last year the holiday Familiars were a series of Sprites).

The best time to pick up any holiday Familiar is when the Elemental Festival it is connected with is active.  Miss it, and you are going to have a much harder time trying to collect that one.  All of the artwork in this post is a copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising is a game where you manage a Lair full of dragons.  One of the things you can do with them is breed them to make more dragons.  If you put together parent dragons that produce offspring with a “special” gene, you end up earning an achievement.

I have learned, through trial and error, that the best way to ensure you will get the breeding achievement you are after is to pair up two parent dragons who each have the “special” gene that corresponds to the achievement.

It only took me one try to earn the Get Crackin! Achievement.  This is because I waited to attempt it until I could breed two dragons who had the Crackle gene.  All the artwork you see in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

The Magma Embear was part of the 2014 Flameforger’s Festival in Flight Rising.  It is an annual event that takes place at the end of August.  At the time I am writing this blog, there are still a few days left in which players can participate in the Flameforger’s Festival.  This time around, all of the special Holiday Familiars are bears.  Last time, it was a series of Sprites.

The best way to obtain an Elemental Familiar is to pick it up while the holiday is going on.  Miss that opportunity, and you will have a much harder time of getting that particular Familiar.  You can take your chances in the Auction House (and hope another player is selling one).  Or, you can wait and see what Familiar will appear as part of a randomized event in December. The Livewire Grizzly was part of the 2014 Thundercrack Carnivale in Flight Rising.  It is an annual event that takes place at the end of July.  The “new year” starts over in June with a brand new batch of collectible Elemental Familiars.  Last time around it was Sprites.  This time is is a series of bears.

The best way to obtain an Elemental Familiar is to pick it up while the holiday is going on.
