Season Journey Chapter IV (Season 12)

While I usually complete Chapter III of the Season Journey with little trouble, I tend to struggle with Chapter IV.  In Season 12, I was very motivated to complete Chapter IV because I really wanted the wings and the portrait frame.  My success was also due to my decision to play a Barbarian in Season 12.  I’ve spent more time playing Barbs than any other class.

Season Journey Chapter III (Season 12)

Chapter III of Season 12 went by really quickly.  The reason why is simple.  I was able to complete the majority of the Chapter III objectives long before I was able to unlock Chapter III.

Players can complete five objectives by finishing Bounties in each Act.  You have to complete one set of Bounties in order to complete an objective in Chapter I.  You also need to collect Legendary crafting materials in order to put things into the Horadric Cube – and the only way to get them is to complete a set of Bounties for each Act.

Season Journey Chapter II (Season 12)

After completing Chapter I of the Season Journey, I decided to push myself to finish Chapter II as quickly as possible.  Progress was made at a reasonably fast rate… until I hit Level 60.  For whatever reason, the grind from Level 60 to Level 70 took longer than I wanted it to.

One thing that helped speed up my progress through Chapter II was that I’d already completed a few of the objectives.

Season Journey Chapter I (Season 12)

Season 12 began while I was taking lots of antibiotics and trying to recover from acute bacterial tonsillitis. This left me with much less energy than I expected, and I was unable to start Season 12 right away.

After thinking it over, I decided to play a softcore Barbarian in Season 12.  I’ve spent more hours playing a Barbarian than playing any other class. Playing a softcore character would allow me to make mistakes – without having to start over at level 1.

My goal for Season 12 is to get those lovely, dark, wings that are offered as one of the rewards.

Season Journey Chapter IV (Season 11)

Qiwoot is a hardcore Monk that I started Season 11 with.  As you can see in the screenshot above, he obtained two Haedrig’s Gifts – which means he has four pieces of the Raiment of a Thousand Storms set.

Sadly, Qiwoot didn’t make it through Season 11.  At the time I am writing this, there are a few more days left in Season 11.  If I try to complete Chapter IV, it cannot be with Qiwoot.

Season Journey Chapter III (Season 11)

Qiwoot is a hardcore Monk that found the Horadric Hamburger in Whimsydale, which he visited while he was working through Chapter II of the Season Journey.  He is wearing the two pieces of the Raiment of a Thousand Storms set that he earned by completing Chapter II.

In this blog, I focus on Qiwoot’s adventure through Chapter III of the Season Journey.  It went much faster than the previous Chapters, mostly because I was able to complete many of the objectives long before I unlocked Chapter III.

Season Journey Chapter II (Season 11)

I’m still moving slowly through Season 11.  For some reason, the gap between hitting Level 50, and hitting Level 70, takes longer than I’d like it to.

Part of the problem is that I’ve been waiting to play Diablo III until after my paid writing work is completed.  I end up playing while tired, and since my Monk is hardcore, I feel the need to be very careful so Qiwoot will stay alive for as long as possible.

Season Journey Chapter I (Season 11)

I’m slowly working my way through Season 11. This time around, I selected a Monk because the real world is making me want to punch things.

I already had a soft core female Monk, so I picked a hard core male Monk for Season 11. It’s nice to get a chance to really listen to all the different voice actors.

Slowly Starting Season 11

Season 11 of Diablo III started on July 20, 2017.  This one is being called the “Season of the Necromancer” because it is the first Season after the Rise of the Necromancer Pack became available. I was lucky enough to be included in the Necromancer beta – but I haven’t bought the pack yet. (I’ll explain more about that later in this blog post.)

I tend to wait a day or two before jumping into a new Season because I’m still traumatized from the difficulty we all had on Launch Day of Diablo III. There is a reason why my first Diablo III character, a Demon Hunter, was named ThirtySeven. I like to give the game some space and start a few days later, in the hopes of avoiding lag.

Season 10 Wrap Up

Every so often, I like to do a “Wrap Up” blog after a Season ends. There are many Seasons where I get to the end and simply don’t have anything additional to say about it. The “Wrap Up” gives me an easy way to stick together a lot of stuff that I didn’t cover in the other blogs about that Season, but still wanted to mention.

Season 10, without a doubt, was one of the most fun. Part of the reason was because I was playing a Crusader. I’ve played this class before, so I went in with a good idea of how they work. To me, it feels like I make more progress through a Season when I play a Crusader than when I play any other class.
