Flight Rising: Checkmate!

There are many achievements that you can earn in the Flight Rising game.  Some are for breeding dragons with a certain gene.  Others are for slaying a certain number of enemies in battle.

Then, there are some that are just fun and random.  Like, for example, the “Checkmate!” achievement.  All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Princess Mononoke has No Desire to Marry a Prince

This was originally posted on Bitch Flicks as part of their theme week on Child and Teenage Girl Protagonists. They kindly gave me permission to crosspost it here.

Often, when an animated movie has the word “Princess” in the title, the storyline focuses on how she found, and married, her Prince. Princess Mononoke, however, doesn’t stick to that old, predictable, scenario at all. Instead, viewers are presented with several very strong female characters and a Princess that has absolutely no desire to marry a Prince.

Flight Rising: Breeding Beautiful Babies

Recently, Flight Rising re-enabled their Achievements. I’ve been working on trying to earn the some of the breeding ones (that you get if your dragons produce a baby with a particular gene). So far, this is working quite well! All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

The next pair of dragons that were ready to breed (and that had not produced babies yet) were Sassafras and Few. I was very curious to see what their babies would look like!

Flight Rising: Achievements Re-Enabled!

Today, Flight Rising re-enabled their Achievements.  Many of them are being awarded retroactively.  Some are non-retroactive (which means you can only earn them if you do it from today onward).   When I logged in today, I suddenly had 190 Achievement points!  All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Here are all of the Achievements that I have earned in Flight Rising (so far):

Flight Rising: Fate of the Baby Dragons

There are many things you can do with your dragons in Flight Rising. One option is to breed them. For me, it’s fun to see what the babies end up looking like. I seem to keep one or two from each breeding, and have been selling many of them off.

Today, I was wondering what the fate of those sold (or traded) baby dragons was. All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: Level 7 Dragons

One of the things you can do in Flight Rising is take your dragons to the Coliseum.  You can have them fight against creatures or the dragons of other players.  So far, I have stuck with the battles against the creatures.

Here is an update on the levels my dragons are currently at.  All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: No Christmas Dragons

I’ve got a red Tundra dragon and a green Snapper dragon in my lair. My plan was to breed them and make red and green colored “Christmas dragons”. The eggs hatched today, but none of the babies turned out like I expected them to.

This blog focuses on the babies who definitely aren’t “Christmas dragons”. All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: Lustrous Sheen Achievement

I have two really pretty Fae dragons in my lair.  It was time for them to breed, and they produced three little Fae babies.  The colors of the babies somewhat resembled the colors of their parents. I find it difficult to predict what a batch of dragon babies will look like.

In this blog, I am going to focus on these new baby Fae dragons and their genes.   All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: They Finally Sold!

My two “starter dragons” produced three babies that no one seemed to want.  What to do?  I didn’t feel like keeping them because they have limited breeding potential in my dragon’s lair. They have too many relatives here, and you cannot breed dragons that are closely related.

Eventually, with a great deal of effort, my dragons sold on the Auction House. They finally sold! All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Flight Rising: Pretty Purple Dragon Babies

My original two dragons have managed to hatch the three eggs they were incubating. This is their third batch of babies. This time, they created some pretty purple baby dragons!

I haven’t quite figured out what to do with the new hatchlings yet. I posted a blog about the upcoming hatchlings on Tumblr, but got no response. It was worth a try. All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

For this post, I thought it would be interesting to do a “family tree” (of sorts) and track the genes that were handed down from my original two dragons to their three batches of offspring. My starter dragons are Shadowspawn and Bob.
