Season Journey Chapter II (Season 14)

I am playing a hardcore Barbarian for Season 14 of Diablo III.  Last Season, I played as part of the Solo Self Found League (SSF) on softcore.  This season, I’m doing it on hardcore.

I started the Season Journey on my softcore Demon Hunter. This meant I did not have an easy way of checking what objectives I had completed on my hardcore Barbarian.  It also means that my Barbarian cannot receive Haedrig’s Gifts, because my Demon Hunter already collected them.

March: Book Two – by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell

March: Book Two is the second in a series of three graphic novels that provide a vivid look at the civil rights movements in the United States.

The March series focuses on the life of John Lewis, who is a United States Representative who represents Georgia’s 5th District. John Lewis is a Democrat. Before you read March: Book Two, you should read March: Book One. Doing so will make it clear what happened before the events in March: Book Two and how they led to what happens next.

The March series was written by John Lewis and Andrew Aydin. The art was done by Nate Powell.

Season Journey Chapter I (Season 14)

Season 14 of Diablo III is the very first themed season. All Treasure Goblin spawns would be doubled for the duration of Season 14. In other words, when players encounter one Treasure Goblin, it will be accompanied by an exact duplicate of itself.

I decided to use Season Rebirth so I could play my hardcore Barbarian as part of the Solo Self Found League (SSF) for Season 14.  In addition, I also used a Season Rebirth on my softcore Demon Hunter, specifically so I could play with friends.

Like a Bad Penny

In February of 2017, after finally making it through the long, exhausting, process of attempting to get Social Security Disability, I was denied. Obviously, this was incredibly frustrating. I started the process in 2014, and spent a big part of the next three years waiting around to see whether or not a Disability Judge would do the right thing.

Long story short, the judge found the flimsiest of excuses to deny me the help that I am entitled to. Last week, I began “Round Two” of my battle to get the Social Security Disability assistance that I need.  If I keep turning up like a bad penny, maybe those who make decisions will do the right thing – so I will go away.

Hearthstone: Ragnaros’ Fire Festival Tavern Brawl

It’s been a while since I played a Tavern Brawl in Hearthstone. I find it fun to figure out how to solve the “puzzle” that each, unique, Tavern Brawl presents. There must be some way to win!

Players who win one match in the Ragnaros’ Fire Festival Tavern Brawl earn one free Classic Card Pack. This Tavern Brawl is also being referred to as The Midsummer Fire Festival Tavern Brawl. It will end on June 30, 2018.

The Dragon is on Fire – Episode 038

In this episode, I read to you a piece of writing I wrote in 2009. It is about something that happened while I was working at my very first summer job – at an amusement park – in the late 1980’s.

I read “The Dragon is on Fire” in episode 038 of Words of Jen.

The Dragon is on Fire

I wrote this piece in 2009 on the blog of a podcast that I used to do (and that no longer is online).  This piece of writing is about real events that happened decades ago, at my first job.

The amusement park I worked at hired teenagers, and didn’t put much effort into training them before handing them the keys to one of the rides.  This amusement park closed a long time ago – and then reopened under a new owner.

I read “The Dragon is on Fire” in episode 038 of my Words of Jen podcast.

Hearthstone: How to Win the Card Back

Every month, Hearthstone players have an opportunity to earn a new card back for their collection. My best guess is that the majority of players are much more interested in racing to the top of the ladder than whatever the current card back is.

Not me. The only reason I participate in Ranked Play is to earn the card back. In this blog, I share what I learned about how to earn the card back every month without getting frustrated and no matter what cards you have or your skill level.
