The Deadland Disciple was the holiday Familiar for the 2015 Riot of Rot. Each festival is connected to a particular Dragon Flight. This one celebrates the Plague Flight. The 2015 Riot of Rot took place during the last week of October, 2015.
In order to obtain the special holiday items that go with the Riot of Rot, players needed to gather (or purchase, or craft) the All-Seeing Shroom currency. It is also possible to use the “leftover” holiday currency that was gathered during a previous Riot of Rot festival. All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.
The Deadland Disciple is one of the acolytes that this year’s Familiars have taken the form of. Last time, the holiday Familiars were bears, and before that they were Sprites.

This year, I noticed that I only had one Plague dragon in my Dragon Lair. My Lair is part of the Shadow Flight, so the only way I can get Plague dragons is to buy them from the Auction House. My one and only Plague dragon had the holiday Familiar from the previous Riot of Rot. So, I purchased a second Plague dragon who could use the stuff I obtained from the 2015 Riot of Rot.
One of the reasons why I selected this particular Plague dragon was because she already came with a name – Maphala. In addition, she was a female Wildclaw. I only had one Wildclaw dragon in my Lair, and it was a male. She was also inexpensive to buy (which is always nice).

I gave Maphala the Deadland Disciple as soon as she got big enough to have (and level up) a Familiar. I didn’t have much time to play during this year’s Riot of Rot, so I couldn’t purchase every holiday item. In general, I like to get the holiday Familiar. This year, I’ve also been collecting the holiday crowns.
