Neko Atsume is a game where the goal is to find a way to attract all of the virtual cats to come to your yard/home. The way to do that is to put out different items, and see what happens.
The Colorful Sock is one of three Socks that players can purchase. It costs 15 gold fish in the Neko Atsume Store. To me, it looks like a Christmas stocking.
The flavor text on the Colorful Sock says: Fluffy fleece footwear that will fill any cat with holiday cheer.
