So, today, the pollen count finally calmed down and my allergies were not as horrifically bad as they have been for weeks.  So, I had a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks.  I had one during the weeks I was sick, but too sick to realize that the PSL was actually making me sicker.

Barely drank half the PSL and got all the symptoms I get that indicate that I’ve been glutened.  After doing a bunch of research online – it turns out that the sauce in the PSL from Starbucks contains gluten.

I also learned that their chai tea latte might have gluten in the sweetener they add to it, so that’s right out as well (and explains why I got so exhausted after drinking them in the past few weeks. I thought it was because I was already sick…. yeah, no.)

Never thought I’d say this – but I think I’m done with Starbucks. I’m tired of getting sick from hidden gluten at a store that is really bad for cross-contamination anyway, that frequently changes their ingredients, and that refuses to post an allergen menu.

That being said, a company named Bigalow makes a Pumpkin Spice Tea.  Bought a box of it at the store this week, and, if it doesn’t end up containing any hidden allergens – that’s what I’m switching to.
