After having a serious lag problem in Diablo III while playing the game with a friend, I made some attempts to fix that problem. My Necromancer was stuck and struggling.

In this video, my Necromancer started out at Level 63. You can see when the lag hit him because it creates a white circle around his feet. The Malthael fight went just as badly as it did when my friend and I tried it together- mostly due to lag.

Objective completed before or during recording this video:

  • Westmarch’s Most Wanted: Obtain an Act V bounty cache. (Chapter II)
  • Soul to Squeeze: Kill Zoltun Kulle at level 60 or higher on Hard difficulty or higher. (Chapter II)
  • Level 1 Seasonal Cubist: Extract a Legendary power using Kanai’s Cube. (Chapter III)

After that, having very few options of what I could successfully do with my Necromancer, I ran a set of Act I Bounties in the hopes of obtaining some Jeweler recipes. The lag returned while fighting with skeletons and columns in The Royal Crypts (on Hard difficulty).

Eventually, I decided that my best option was to stop playing the Necromancer and level up a Barbarian.

  1. You are “lagging” because you are using Stone Gauntlets as your gloves.

Read the description on them, and you will see what is happening. 🙂

    1. Thanks, DiabloFriend!

I typically don’t pay close attention to the armor my character is wearing until they start getting big enough for set pieces. I think I equipped those gloves because they sounded better than whatever I was using before, and just didn’t read further than that.
