One of the cool things about Diablo III is that you don’t have to play it all by yourself. I mean, you can if you want to. However, it is also perfectly acceptable to allow your friends to help you progress through the game. Always fun!
If you have been following along, then you know that our current goal is to get the two characters we rolled on Launch Night completely through Normal difficulty before May 15, 2013 (the anniversary of when Diablo III was released).
Here’s more of the adventures of my Demon Hunter, ThirtySeven, and Shawn’s Barbarian, Smashez Stanzenfyr. We were happy to have help from some friends. We started with ThirtySeven at level 31 and Smashez at level 30, and we left off slightly after the battle with Cydaea.
We started off at Arreat Crater, Level 2.
Seems we couldn’t pick up exactly where we left off at the last Checkpoint. Didn’t lose anything, though. So, we ended up heading towards the battle with Cydaea, once again.
Blood Clan Occultists
Ran into a pack of Soul Lashers shortly before Cydaea unleashed her “daughters” onto us.
Mrawgann the Unholy – makes clones of himself as you fight him.
NinePad had joined us by the time we ran into this pack of Blood Clan Impalers.
Big “Thank You” to NinePad for helping us move quickly through the game (by annihilating everything in our path, and also for some very generous gifts).
NinePad led the way to the Tower of the Cursed Level One…
…ThirtySeven and Smashez followed right along.
Big “Thank You” to HomeTownHero, who joined us at the Tower of the Cursed Level 2 (and helped us along).
The four of us battled Cydaea, The Maiden of Lust, together. Here we go!
We made a great team! It didn’t take long at all to kill Cydaea, and we got lots of Achievements.
Shawn and I both got Antivenom: Kill Cydaea without taking damage from her Spiderlings.
Shawn got A Question of Lust: Kill Cydaea on Normal Difficulty.
Shawn got Massacre of the Damned: Kill 500 elite (champion, rare, or unique) enemies in cooperative games.
Not long after the battle, HomeTownHero was very generous and gave a lovely amount of gold to me and Shawn, to help us in our adventures. Once again, “Thank You”! We very much appreciate it.
“No, Smashez Stanzenfyr, you can’t go stand in the lava!”
Why are there stairs that lead to lava?
Undaunted, Smashez Stanzenfyr found another way to live up to his name:
Torrack joined our party shortly before we reached the Checkpoint before the Core of Arreat. Big “Thank You!” to Torrack for helping us along (and also for presents).
Upon entering the Heart of Sin, Shawn got an Achievement.
Mouth of Hell: Explore all the areas of Arreat Crater.
Arreat Crater Level 1, Arreat Crater Level 2, Tower of the Damned Level 1, Tower of the Damned Level 2, Heart of the Damned, Tower of the Cursed Level 1, Tower of the Cursed Level 2, Heart of the Cursed, The Core of Arreat, Heart of Sin.
The four of us were also a great team. Azmodan died very quickly!
I got The Lord of Sin (Cooperative): Kill Azmodan on Normal difficulty in a cooperative game.
Shawn got that one and The Lord of Sin: Kill Azmodan on Normal difficulty.
Lieutenant Lavail: An incredible victory! I knew Azmodan could never stand up to the likes of you! It’s always a good sign when you manage to impress an NPC!
NinePad gave us a pile of plans. Our characters will have to “grow into them”. I took the screenshot a bit late, and Shawn had stored them for us already. I assure you, it was a big pile of plans!
What’s that? NinePad gave me an awesome crossbow named “Calamity”. Can’t wait to use it!
More details on “Calamity”:
Slender and refined, this weapon is the antithesis of a traditional, rough-hewn and unwieldy crossbow. Obviously it is the result of loving craftsmanship by a master armsmaker.
It is Item Level 63, but requires a player to be level 60 to use it.
Torrack gave us a bunch of square gems (which I stored for me and Shawn). I’ve never seen those before!
Just like that, we were at the cinematic at the end of Act III of Normal difficulty.
Smashez Stanzenfyr and ThirtySeven are now, officially, in Act IV of Normal difficulty in Diablo III!
