Today was Day 24 of the 2017 Fall pollen season. I feel completely drained of energy. Sleeping in for later than I have been in the past week or so, and being able to avoid going outside, did not result in making me feel better. This is not a surprise, given how many days of Fall pollen season I have suffered through.
The pollen count today was 8.1. That’s not good for me. It appears to be getting lower, which is a hopeful sign. If I’m really lucky I’ll be sick for a month straight – but not three months straight.
One of my chronic illnesses is borderline anemia. I’ve lost some blood this week. I had what could be considered a small, outpatient, surgery to get the birth control taken out of my arm.
Next, I went to the dentist for a check up and cleaning. This always makes my gums bleed. I don’t have gum disease, so the bleeding is either due to being anemic or because my gums are often inflamed as a result of rheumatoid arthritis.
Yesterday, I went back to Planned Parenthood to have the small incision made when my birth control was removed checked on. Fortunately, I’m healing properly this time. Unfortunately, having birth control removed resulted in having my period start – so I’m going to be anemic for a while no matter what I do.
Today was a good day for an iced coffee with some chocolate powder and sugar mixed into it. In addition, I needed a really long nap. This little story is one example of what can happen when several of my chronic illnesses gang up on me.
