Chapter IV Season 7 completeChapter IV of the Season Journey in Season 7 included objectives that were different from the Season 6 version of Chapter IV.  Things get changed around from one Season to the next, and I think that helps keep things interesting.

I completed Chapters I – III with very little difficulty.  Chapter IV provided a challenge (and slowed down my progress a bit).

In the previous Chapters, it was possible to complete objectives just by doing what I normally did in the game.  Chapter IV pushed me out of my comfort zone a little bit.  It also required some thinking about how, exactly, I was going to manage to complete some of the objectives.

Chapter IV start Season 7This is what Chapter IV looks like when you start (if you haven’t accidentally completed any of its objectives before you unlocked this Chapter).

I cannot find the “Achievement Toast” for the first Chapter IV objective that I completed.  I either forgot to take it, or I lost it.  It’s also possible that the “Achievement Toast” didn’t pop up for me (but all the rest have, so that seems unlikely).

Reward Item third Haedrigs Gift Season 7Players who complete Chapter IV of the Season Journey (in Season 7) receive their third, and final, Haedrig’s Gift.  It will contain the remaining pieces of whatever set the player had been collecting in Season 7.

As before, players need to get Haedrig’s Gift out of their in-game mail.  It will automatically place itself into the player’s Inventory (or bag).  Open Haedrig’s Gift, and the remaining set pieces will fall on the ground for the player to pick up.

I was playing a Demon Hunter in Season 7, so I received the last two pieces of the Unhallowed Essence set.

After completing Chapter IV, players get a choice.  They can stop working on the Season Journey if they want to.  (By this point, they would have earned all of the rewards that are connected with completing Chapters I – IV).

New Journey Season 7Or, players can choose to continue the Season Journey with the next portion of it, which is called Slayer.  Those that complete all of the objectives in Slayer will be able to unlock additional portions of the Season Journey.

  1. HI. I’m having lots of problems understanding the Reforge a weapon property to a socket at the Mystic. Can you tell me how you did that? Thanks.

    1. lionmml – here is what I did.

First, you have to bring a Legendary item to the Mystic. She cannot reforge Rare (or lower quality items). She can also reforge Set pieces (Green items)

Next, talk to the Mystic. A window will open up. One of the options in that window will let you reforge an item.

Put the Legendary item you want to reforge into the little box in that window.

There should be some options listed in a box at the bottom of that window. Each option is one thing that is already on the Legendary item you are trying to reforge. There is a question mark to the side of each one. Click it.

When you click the question mark, it opens up a list of potential things that you can change that particular thing to. See if that list includes “Socket”. If not, pick a different one until you get a list that includes “Socket”.

When you find a list that includes “Socket”, you can click on the line that shows the thing that is already on your item that you want to change.

The Mystic will change it (if you have all the necessary materials). The required materials are shown toward the bottom of the window.

Keep in mind that the Mystic is going to randomly select one of the things that appeared in the box of potential changes. It could be a Socket …. or it could be something else.

It took me several tries to finally get the Mystic to reforge a weapon into a socket.

I hope this makes sense. I will try and put together a blog about this sometime soon.

      1. I’m still having trouble with this. I’ve taken Yellow and Orange weapons to the Mystic, changed one of the properties so it became a socket, but I’m not rewarded for completing the task. After the socket is added, is there something else I need to do? Do I actually need to put a gem in there? Do I need to equip it?

        1. Jeff,
The “Exquisiteness” objective says: “Reforge a weapon property to a socket at the Mystic”. You said you took yellow and orange weapons to the Mystic, and changed a property so that the weapon obtained a socket. So far, so good.

I can think of three potential things that may be causing you not to get the completion on that objective.

          1. Sometimes the game has a delay between when you earn a Season objective and when it officially records it as completed in the Season Journey. Try completely logging out of the game, and then logging back in. The game might catch up to you and reward that objective the next time you log on.

          2. Did the “Achievement Toast” fail to pop up on your screen when you earned that objective? Sometimes the game fails to have the “Achievement Toast” pop up, but actually records the objected as completed in the Season Journey. If you didn’t see an “Achievement Toast”, check your Season Journey and see if the game counted it as completed.

          3. Did the weapon(s) you took to the Mystic already have a socket on them? If so, then you would be essentially trying to replace the socket with something else…. but then picking the socket again. I’m guessing the game won’t count the objective as completed if you do it that way. Maybe bring a weapon that doesn’t already have a socket on it to the Mystic next time.

Let me know if any of this advice helps. I hope something does! If not, I’ll see what else I can figure out.

Oh! There was a DDoS on Blizzard’s games fairly recently, so if you were trying to earn that objective while that was going on… that could be the problem. If so, you might have to just re-do that objective.

          Jen

          1. I did it with weapons that didn’t have sockets. The award didn’t pop in the screen, and I’ve done it more than once without being rewarded for it. When I finish achievements they usually pop up right away.
Are there any known bugs with this particular achievement?

          2. Sorry to hear that it’s still not working for you. I did a little digging, and it appears that others are having problem with that Season Journey objective, too. Reddit Diablo has a post from about a month ago. Diablo Battle Net Forum has a post about it from August. I’m not sure if the Diablo Team is aware that it is a bug.
